"Hostage Pleads For Rescue"

The phone rings at the State Police dispatcher’s office. "Dispatcher, how may I direct your call?"

"This is an emergency," the caller says, "I’m being held hostage."

"What is your current location?" asks the dispatcher.

The guy answers, "I’m in the back of a car in front of 2020 Huguenot Balloon Drive, in front of Frankie’s Bar & Grill."

"You’re calling from Frankie’s Bar & Grill?"

"No sir, I’m trapped in the back of a white Ford Crown Victoria, parked in front of the bar" the guy says. "I”m calling on my cell phone which they don’t realize I had concealed on my belt."

"Where are your captors now?" asks the dispatcher.

"I don’t really know where they are," the guy answers, "they’re not in the car, but they’re close by and I’m afraid of what they’ll do to me when they come back and see me on a cell phone."

The dispatcher responds. "Please stand by, sir, and remain on the line, I’ll get back to you in just a moment."

"Okay, but hurry," the guy says in a pleading voice.

The dispatcher makes a radio call to the nearby Town Police where Frankie’s Bar & Grill is located: "Please be advised I have an adult male on the line calling from his cell phone claiming to be a hostage. This hostage claims to be held in the back of a Crown Victoria, white in color. Victim further claims that he’s being held by two rather large white males possibly in their thirties wearing dark clothing. 10-4 so far?"

The Town Police dispatcher replies: "Thank you State Patrol, the subject you refer to is being held in custody in the back of one of our town patrol cars."
